Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research was determine the forage yield and some morphological characters on different growing stages (boot stage, early anthesis, anthesis and kernel milk stages) of two different prairie grass (Bromus catharticus Vahl.)Lines.the experiment was carried out split plot in randomized complete block design with three replications at the experimental areas of Field Crops Department of Agricultural Faculty of Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University in 2018-2019 growing period, main stem length, main stem thickness, flag leaf width, flag leaf length, leaf/plant ratio, fresh yield and hay yield were determined in the research. Significant differences were determined between the growing stage of prairie grass lines in terms of main stem length, flag leaf width, flag leaf length, fresh yield and hay yield. There were no significant differences between the lines in terms of measured criteria. Total fresh yield of prairie grass lines were determined between 1164,28-1559,52 kg/da and hay yields were between 327,27-508,69 kg/da.as a result; in Tekirdağ conditions, line 3 and line 13 of prairie grassshould be preferred for forage production and should be harvested at the beginning of flowering for forage. Key words: Bromus catharticus, Prairie grass, growing stage, hay yield
