Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, vehicle passive suspension system, their control types and driVe dynamics, which can be stated as one of the most important subjects in automotive industry, are investigated. To get holistic assessment regarding vehicle passive suspension system, the system is modeled in Simulink. The Simulink model runs for a prescribed time span, the model returns the time and the corresponding angular acceleration and vertical acceleration to be able to minimize passenger discomfort when driving over the test bump at the predefined speed. The passenger discomfort is measured by the sum of the peak and total acceleration for front and rear passengers. Based on angular acceleration and vertical acceleration datas comes from Simulink in simultaneously, Matlab Optimization Toolbox is used to detect suitable spring stiffness and damping coefficients to be able choose proper spring to provide required passanger comfort. Various optimization algorithms have also tired to compare which algorithms give the suitable solution in less time too. At the end, the deep analyze of the high and low performance is carried out regarding suspension systems in vehicle.
