Abstract (EN)

The inhibition ability of S-(2-hydroxethyl)-4 methyl-thiazole compound towards stainless steel corrosion in ethylene glycol-water mixture (antifrezee) was studied at various concentration using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and potentiodynamic techniques. The corrosion of stainless steel in ethylene glycol-water mixture was effecttively reduced by addition HEMT that form a protective film on the metal surface. The obtained results showed that inhibitor efficiency increaseing with higher HEMT concentration. As expected, the highest inhibition efficiency was obtained with 1,0x10-2 M concentration of HEMT solution.
