Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to determine the relationship among distributed leadership, parental involvement and school engagement and to esmitate the school engagement levels of the students with the help of Artificial Neural Networks in secondary schools. The population of this study which is in correlational survey model constitutes from students studying in secondary schools of Elazığ province and their parents in 2014-2015 education year. The study was conducted on 1488 students studying in 30 secondary schools and 1488 parents of students. The research data was collected by using Family Involvement and Support Scale, School Engagement Scale, Parent's Perception about Distributed Leadership Scale, and Parental Involvement Scale. So in the analysis of data, frequency, mean, t-test, analysis of variance, correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis and artificial neural network techniques were used. According to the results of the study, exhibiting the distributed leadership behaviors among school stakeholders, acting collaboratively by school stakeholders, having the right to comment on something in school management by parents, affect positively the contribution of parents to educational lives of their students. Variables of distributed leadership and parental involvement and support perceptions have a significant effect on the scores School Engagement. 21 % of the variance related to school engagement was explained by distributed leadership and parental involvement and support perceptions. School engagement levels of students were estimated with using artificial neural networks and through variables associated with school engagement in a meaningful way.At the end of the study, proposals have made to policy makers, practitioners and researchers. Key Words: Distributed Leadership, Parental Involvement, Home Visits, School Engagement.
