Abstract (EN)
Recently, performance evaluation systems have been playing a significant role for bothexecutives and employees in organizations. Results of the evaluation assigned todecisions about employees enable not only to increase the motivation of employees butalso to create justice. It can be said that performance evaluation system based onemployee mainly refers to mutually beneficial communication. Therefore, the success ofevaluation efforts is influenced by performance evaluation process and attitudes ofemployees towards areas in which performance evaluation results are used.In this study, attitudes of employees towards the areas in which performance evaluationresults are applied are examined. At the first chapter of the study, the definition, purpose,development and process of performance evaluation system are mentioned. The secondchapter focuses on the methods which will be able to be used for performance evaluationefforts and areas in which evaluation results are applied. Throughout the third chapter, thecurrent examples about performance evaluation systems implemented by companies aregiven. The last chapter includes application of the study. In this section, the attitudes ofemployees towards areas in which performance evaluation results are used are measured.The sample of the study comprised 124 white-collar employees who are working for amultinational company. During the study, the questionnaire form which covers twosections and has 1-5 likert scale was used.According to the research, the attitudes of employees change in terms of their job titlesand departments in which they are working for. The criteria used in performanceevaluation system and value given to these criteria affect to the attitudes of employees. Itcan be claimed that whether the activities such as carrier, compensation and education aredone or not under a common standard influence on employees? attitudes. The result of thestudy clearly shows that employees reacted positively when performance evaluationresults are used for the activities such as education, carrier, compensation, job rotation,strategic planning and layoff.
