The Thesis of Master?s Thesis ProgramThe Impact of Employee Empowerment to Organisation CultureÖzlem ŞENELDokuz Eylül UniversityInstitute Of Social SciencesDepartment of Management and OrganizationABSTRACT?Empowerment? has occupied a central place in business managementsince the early 1990s. Empowerment has been a new management techniquewhich provides competition advantage to organizations over the last decade.Empowerment, which has been exposed by global changing and competition,has been described as a means to enable employees to make decisions and as apersonal phenomenon where individuals take responsibility for their ownactions.The level of empowerment is related to the strength of an organization'sculture. The concept of empowerment pushes participative management a stepfurther as it requires that employees internalize their organization's culture andmake independent decisions. Hence, the level of empowerment in organizationswill vary and shall depend upon the extent to which the organization cultureand structure promotes and facilitates empowerment.In this thesis, a comprehensive literature research is conducted for theimpact of empowerment to organizational culture and the concept ofempowerment and organizational culture.Key Words:1) Empowerment, 2) Employee Empowerment, 3) Organisationalculture, 4) Participation
