Abstract (EN)
In this study, bagasse raw material, which was obtained from olive oil factories in Hatay region, was treated by processes like pyrolysis, grinding and treating with waste acid to obtain three different additives which are pyrolytic oil, grinded bagasse and modified bagasse, respectively. The effect of these additives on the rheological and filtration properties of drilling fluid was examined by adding these additives alone to water based drilling fluid. Moreover, a comprehensive study was carried out to investigate the effect of temperature on the rheological properties of drilling fluid. When examining the rheological and filtration properties of drilling fluid with and without additives, a number of studies were applied on some parameters such as mud weight, viscosity, yield point, gel strength, fluid loss, filter cake thickness and pH values. The drilling fluids were prepared at temperatures of 25 ºC, 35 ºC, 49 ºC and 66 ºC to investigate the effect of temperature on the rheology of drilling fluid. As a result of these studies, it was generally seen that the bagasse based additives had a positive effect on the rheological and filtration properties of drilling fluid. As the amount of additive increases, it was seen that the mud weight increases after the amount of additive exceeds at a certain level, viscosity and yield point generally decrease, a better gel structure forms, a low fluid loss occurs, a thin and impermeable filter cake forms and pH value decreases. As the temperature increases, the viscosity, yield point and gel strength of the drilling fluid have a tendency of decreasing and increasing at different temperatures. When analyzing the effect of temperature on the pH value, it was observed that the pH value decreased with the increase of temperature in all of the drilling fluids with and without additives.
