Abstract (EN)
Fossil fuel reserves, which provide a large part of the world's energy needs, are more damaging the environment. For this reason, the number of studies on renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, hydroelectric and biomass is gradually increasing. Biomass is one of the most widely used renewable energy sources in the world. All organic materials originating from plants and animals can be used to produce energy. Macro and microalgae, which are Among the biomass sources, have a very high potential for biogas production. In this study, the biomethane production potential of the anaerobic digestion process by using Pleurochrysis carterae as a substrate source. For this purpose, Pleurochrysis carterae biomass was added to the anaerobic reactors at different concentrations and operated at 37oC for 32 days. The highest methane concentrations of 159.56 ml CH4 /g-VS was obtained at the Pleurochrysis carterae biomass concentrations of 10 g/L. It was observed that the methane ratio of biogas was between 48%-73.9%. The results showed that Pleurochrysis carterae biomass is a suitable substrate source for biomethane production in the anaerobic digestion process.
