ABSTRACT Master Thesis INVESTİGETİON OF THE EFFECTS OF POLYESTER RESÎN ON THE BITUMEN AND BITUMEN HOT - MIXES Mehmet YILMAZ Fırat University Graduate School of Natural and Applied Science Department of Civil Engineering 2005, Page :57 In this study, polyester resin (PR) that used like additional material was investigated effects on bitumen and bitumen hot - mixes. Binder tests were done on mixes that obtained AC 75/100 and various proportion polyester resin. From obtained penetration values, AC 100/150 bitumen same class a binder was supplied from mixes that used AC 75/100 bitumen and % 0,75 ratio PR. Samples' optimum binder content that used AC 75/100, AC 100/150, AC 75/100 + % 0,75 ratio PR binders were determined according to Marshall mix design. Marshall stability, indirect tensile stiffness modulus and static loading creep stiffness tests were done on the mix samples that had optimum bitumen content. Test results have shown that AC 75/100 + % 0,75 ratio PR binder was increased Marshall stability and indirekt tensile stiffness modulus and it was reduced static loading creep stiffness.
