Abstract (EN)
Symbols and logos have been fundamental building blocks of communication throughout human history. From cave paintings to ancient civilizations, and from hieroglyphs to cuneiform writing, different symbols have served as vehicles for thought and information transfer. Particularly, the symbols in Egyptian tombs are early examples of this effect, reflecting the profound impact of symbolism on human culture. In today's globalized world, brands leverage the power of symbols, especially logos, to reach and connect with consumers. Symbols, particularly logos, hold strategic importance for brands to attract attention and gain a competitive advantage. This study aims to analyze the evolution of symbols and logos by delving into the process of simplification in the logos of popular brands. It highlights the crucial role of logo design in conveying brands' identity, values, and essence to consumers. The simplification of logos over time by popular brands reveals the evolution of visual representation and the shaping of brand identity. The research focuses on understanding brand communication strategies through symbols, spanning from the historical perspective of symbolism to contemporary brand communication. It emphasizes that brands go beyond product quality to leave a lasting impact on consumers by focusing on brand values, customer experience, innovation, and sustainability. The study, concentrating on the importance of simplicity and minimalism in logo design for brand communication strategies, thoroughly examines the evolution of logos of popular brands. It delves into the impact of the principle of simplicity on building brand identity and explores how logos have evolved over time. Furthermore, the study investigates how the colors and lines used in logo design effectively strengthen the brand image and examines the role of these elements in establishing a deep emotional connection between the brand and the consumer. The results of the study aim to shed light on current issues in brand communication and design, providing valuable insights for understanding brands' decision-making processes in their evolution and offering strategic recommendations for the future.
