Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted to exhibit the effects on soil carbon mineralization of different doses [recommended dose (RD), × 2 RD and × 4 RD] of glyphosate-amine salt (480 g / l) used in the fight against harmful grasses on the orange garden soil of Erzin district of Hatay in the laboratory conditions (28 °C, 48 days). Soil samples were taken from the orange garden before and after applying the glyphosate-amine salt and also Osmaniye Korkut Ata University for use as a clean area in the comparisons. Carbon mineralization of three group soils moistened to 80% of the field capacity was determined by CO2 respiration method. The C mineralization of the control orange soil (OS) before and after appliying herbicide was found significantly lower than the recommended dose, its 2 and 4 times amount (P <0.05). C mineralization was not affected by all herbicide additions (P> 0.05) in the campus soils which are preferred as clean area. These findings showed that the glyphosate-amine salt added to the orange soils sampled separately before and after spraying was used as a carbon source by the microorganisms that persisted in the soil. The microorganisms in the campus soil indicated the tolerance to this herbicide for the first time, but this tolerance might change depending on the time.
