Abstract (EN)

Positivism was a philosophical movement during the nineteenth century, which was oneof the most important starting points for the foundation of scientific progress'. The emergence and development of positivism, and its reaching large impact on scientific fields such as religion,politics and education. The purpose of this study is to examine positivism, specifically ineducation, and how it progressed over time. Most importantly, to show correlation of Positivismand education in Turkey.To understand the factors and motivation for the formation, it is necessary to look at Pre-Positivism. As more became aware of the idea of Positivism it was criticallyanalyzed and altered so it would reach a bigger mass.In order to look at the effects of Positivism in the history of education, the concepts ofeducation and training in Turkish states are shown. We are able to understand the impact ofeducation before and after the acceptance of Islam in schools with the help of positivisteducation which was evaluated with examinations. The transition process to Positivism was influenced by human ideas and ideologies of theology and metaphysics. As more people became aware ofthe idea of Positivism, it was critically analyzed and altered so it would reach bigger masses.In order to look at the effects of Positivism in the history of education, the concepts of education and training in Turkish states are shown. We are able to understand the impact ofeducation before and after the acceptance of Islam in schools with the help of positivisteducation which was evaluated and thouroughly examined.
