Abstract (EN)

Factors that negatively affect a woman's psychology and social life during pregnancy harm mother and child health. In the literature, it is pointed out that psychosocial health, which is often ignored during pregnancy, is as important as physical health and should be prioritized. Evaluation of the pregnant and her psychosocial care needed by the pregnant are important for the adaptation to the social environment and avoid the adverse effects that may impair her health in the social environment in which she lives. Psychosocial evaluations of pregnant women are also critical regarding the mother's binding with her baby. In this research, was conducted on primiparous pregnant women who applied to the Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic of Kastamonu City Hospital. The study sample consists of 235 voluntary pregnant women who apply to the Obstetrics and Gynecology Polyclinic between 15.11.2021 and 15.12.2021. Data were collected in three separate forms. Two of them which applied to pregnants are 15-item Pregnant Information Form (PIF) prepared by the researcher and Psychosocial Health Assessment Scale in Pregnancy (PHASP). The third one, filled by researcher, according to answers that asked questions by phone call to mothers in two weeks after birth is Mother and Baby Binding Scale (MBBS). Statistical analyzes were analyzed using SPSS (IBM SPSS Statistics 24) program, "Mann-Whitney U" test (Z-table value), and "Kruskal-Wallis H" test (χ2-table value). "Spearman" correlation coefficient was used to examine the relationships of two quantitative variables that do not have a normal distribution. The mean total score of pregnant women in the PHASP was 4.02±.0.35, which is reasonable, while the mean MBBS total score of the women was a solid 1.77±1.62. It was determined that MBBS was affected by social pressure and the influence of this pressure on the spouse. At the same time, PHASP sub-dimensions were positively or negatively affected by the woman's age, occupation, education level, and income level, and whether the pregnancy was planned or not. No statistically significant correlation was found between MBBS and PHASP sub-dimensions and the total score (p>0.05). It may be recommended to more research with high level of evidence examining the relationship between the level of psychosocial health and Mother and Baby Binding Scale (MBBS) and the factors affecting it. It is recommended that this study be carried out in a larger sample group by selecting samples from different regions, in order to reveal the characteristics in different sociocultural regions.
