Abstract (EN)

Our purpose in this study is to determine the effects of acidity on in-vitro pollen germination and pollen tube length in pollen of almond (Prunus amygdalus Batsch) and plum (Prunus domestica L.) plants. Pollens of almond and plum plants were exposed were exposed the effect of acidic solutions with pH 6.8 (control), 6.4, 6.0, 5.6, 5.2, 4.8, 4.4, 4.0, 3.6, 3.2, 2.8 respectively. The pollen used in the study was germinated in Brawbaker Kwack culture medium. According to the obtained data, it was determined that the pH level of the least affected was 6.4, given the pollen germination rate and tube length for each plants. As the pH level decreases, it was occurred significant reductions in pollen germination and tube length. At pH 2.8, the reduction of the rates were calculated 93.43% for pollen germination, 100% for tube length in almond and 93.41% for pollen germination, 99.63% for tube length in plum. Key Words: Acidity, Prunus amygdalus Batsch, Prunus domestica L., Pollen germination, Pollen tube growth.
