The comparision of emotional intelligence-communucation and empathy skills levels of psychological counselors and primary school teachers

The aim of this research is to study on the emotional intelligence, communication and the emphathy skills levels of psychological counselors and the primary school teachers . The example of the research has been applied by 166 teachers and 151 psychological counselors who work in the primary schools in Konak, Buca, Karşıyaka Bornova, Güzelbahçe and Çiğli. Emotional Intelligence Scale which has been devolopped by Ergin and his friends, Communication Skills Inventory which has been devolopped by Ersanlı and Balcı, EmpathicAbility Scale B-Form which has been devolopped by Dökmen; which are used as a vehicle of collecting data. In the result of study, there haven't found any important emotional intelligence differences between the teachers and the councelors. The communication skill points of the teachers are quite higher than the communication skill point of psychological counselors. Whereas the emphatic skill point of the councelors have found quite higher than the teachers.
