Abstract (EN)

Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is defined as a resting mean pulmonary artery pressure (mPAP) of ≥20 mmHg during cardiac catheterization. In our study, it was applied to patients followed up in our clinic by the Cardiology Clinic of Fırat University Faculty of Medicine Hospital between 2022-2023. 50 patients with ferritin levels <200 ng/ml among patients with PAH diagnosed with CC were included in the study. Our study was planned to include patients with precapillary PH, but since the number of patients followed up in the other precapillary PH group in our clinic was low, it was thought that it would not be statistically significant and therefore they were not included in the study. Laboratory parameters of patients followed up in the cardiology clinic of Fırat University were examined by echocardiography researchers by looking at the patient files. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between serum ferritin level and right ventricular contraction hemogenicity in patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension followed up in the Cardiology Clinic of Fırat University Faculty of Medicine Hospital. The mean age of the patients participating in the study was 55.320, 32% were male and 68% were female, the TAPSE/SPAB value of the individuals obtained after the study (0.632 ± 0.183) was significantly higher than the TAPSE/SPAB value obtained before the study (0.493 ± 0.151), the ferritin value obtained after the study (356.814 ± 185.487, Median=340.05) was significantly higher than the ferritin value obtained before the study (34.686 ± 26.601, Median=26.70), the serum iron value obtained after the study (84.320 ± 34.326) was significantly higher than the serum iron value obtained before the study (60.380 ± 24.820), the HGB value obtained after the study (15.086 ± 2.605) was significantly higher than the HGB value obtained before the study. It was found to be significantly higher than the value (14.104 ± 2.805). It was concluded that the presence of iron deficiency in patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension may be associated with increased mortality and that hemodynamic variables differ in PH patients with and without iron deficiency. Key Words: Group 1 Pulmonary Hypertension, Serum Ferritin Level, Right Ventricular Contraction Hemogenicity
