Abstract (EN)
To practise cardiopulmonary bypass, which is the focus of open heart surgery, without any side-effects as possible, perfusion techniques need to be researched in details. Cardiopulmonary bypass provides a non-pulsatil circulation in general. One of the developed alternative methods is pulsatil perfusion. One of the basic deleterious effects of cardiopulmonary bypass is non-pulsatil flow which occurs at that moment and is not physiological. The method which is more physiological but brings additional discussions is to provide circulation with pulsatil flow. Many researchers didn?t observe any differences between pulsatil and non-pulsatil perfusion. Findings from the studies on organ functions, histology, metabolism, microcirculation and hemodynamics show that in some cases, pulsatil perfusion protects tissue metabolism and function better than non-pulsatil perfusion.To examine these effects, among the patients included in the study, 3 were perfused with pulsatil and 3 were perfused with non-pulsatil perfusion during open heart surgery. Heparin coated Medos HILITE 7000 oxygenator, which is used in extracorporeal circulation circuit, was removed for investigation and as a result of actions, the differences between the two flow types will be investigated. Having measured the total protein and complete blood value adsorbed on the surface, biocompatibility differences between flow types will be examined.Keywords: Pulsatile perfusion, extracorporeal circulation, heparin-coated, Medos oxygenator, biocompatibility.
