Abstract (EN)

Composite material, which is formed by the physical combination of at least two material selections among metal, ceramic and polymer materials, is constantly increasing due to its usage area, type and amount, changes within itself and the development of manufacturing and thermal methods. The production methods of these materials are one of the factors that shape the mechanical properties of the composite material. For this reason, the most suitable one among the open or closed mold production methods of the composite material desired to be obtained is selected. This method should ensure that the composite has the requested properties, shapes, dimensions and conditions if there is a heat treatment to be applied. Pultrusion method is the most common production method of constant cross-section continuous fiber reinforced composite materials, which are durable regardless of exterior or interior. The pultrusion method is an automatic production method that produces by pulling through the mold from heated molds while the reinforcement materials are bathed in a matrix. In this study, the differences between them were investigated by comparing the mechanical properties of glass-reinforced polyester resin composite materials produced in flat, box, U, I and L profiles by the pultrusion method by subjecting them to tensile, bending, calcination and impact tests. Impact test was applied according to ASTM D-256 standard, tensile test according to ASTM D-638 standard, bending test according to ASTM D-790 standard and calcination test according to TS-1177/EN-ISO-1172 standard. In the profile shapes, the sample was cut by paying attention to the direction of the experiment. As a result of the study, it is observed that the yield strength decreases as the symmetry is removed from the planarity and sharp corners are preferred.
