Abstract (EN)
In this study, the stress, strain components and radial displacement areanalytically calculated for a functionally graded solid cylinder, which is underthe effect of a radially varying temperature distribution with the use of Hooke?sLaw, equations of equilibrium and compatibility equation. Material propertiesfor the functionally graded cylinder are defined to be functions which dependon radius. Since the material is functionally graded, the effects of elasticityfunction, thermal conductivity function and thermal expansion coefficient onthe stress and strain components are examined. By using Tresca?s yieldcriterion, stress and strain components which arise in a homogenious isotropicand a FGM cylinder under the same working conditions which include eitherreference surface temperature or convective thermal boundary conditions arecompared with each other, and critical values of volumetric internal energygeneration parameters which cause plastic yielding at these two types ofcylinder are calculated.
