Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, a well-defined telechelic poly(acrylonitrile) (PAN) macrophotoinitiator was syn-thesized using the RAFT/MADIX polymerization method and characterized. For this purpose, firstly, a new telechelic photoactive chain transfer agent (CTA) was synthesized to be used in RAFT/MADIX polymerization. CTA molecule was obtained from the reaction of bromine end-functionalized bromo benzoin (B-Br) photoinitiator, which was obtained by the reaction of ben-zoin compound with 2- bromopropaniol bromide, and sodium O-(2-oxo-1,2-diphenylethyl) car-bodithioate (this compound was obtained from the reaction of benzoin compound with CS2 in the presence of NaH). As a result of RAFT/MADIX polymerization of Acrylonitrile (AN) mono-mer at 60-70 oC in the presence of 4,4′-azobis(4-cyanovaleric acid) (ACVA) initiator and this new xanthate type CTA, a well-defined polyacrylonitrile macrophotoinitiator, which has a ben-zoin photoreactive group at each of both ends of the chain, (telechelic PAN macrophotoinitiator, B-PAN-B) was obtained. The characterization of the obtained PAN macrophotoinitiator was performed by FT-infrared, 1H-NMR, GPC, UV-Vis, and fluorescence techniques. In addition, the synthesized PAN macrophotoinitiators was used as a prepolymer in photoinduced free radical promoted cationic polymerization of cyclohexene oxide (CHO) monomer to obtain ABA type a block copolymer (PCHP-PAN-PCHO).
