Abstract (EN)
Purpose: To understand and evaluate the visual field, fluorescein angiography, optical coherence tomography, intraocular pressure and quality of life among the patients subjected to intravitreal Ranibizumab injection after the diagnosis using exudative-type AMD.Methods And Materials: 48 eyes of 48 patients who were diagnosed with exudative-type after they applied to take medical examination to Cukurova University, Medical Faculty, Department of Ophthalmology, Retina Division between May 2009 and June 2010 and advised intravitreal Ranibizumab injection were studied. The sexual, systemic disease and smoking states of the patients and the medical history of their families were questioned. It was evaluated prospectively whether BCVA, FA and OCT changes took place and, through a survey, whether any development was observed in the quality of life after injection. Three successive dozes of Ranibizumab injection were applied to the subjects, and the changes before and after the injection were recorded. Results: The patients injected with Ranibizumab due to choroidal neovascularization secondary to age-related macular degeneration were studied. The sexual panorama of the patients were 23 females and 25 males, with average ages of 70,39±10,47 and 69,28±9,42, respectively. They were observed for 20±6 months on average. Their visual acuity was examined through both snellen and ETDRS tests.Visual acuity after the injection of ranibizumab, on the recovery of 3 rows and 12 (25%) patients, 3 less than ordinary income of the 28 (58.3%) patients, 3 less than ordinary loss 6 (12.5%) patients, 3 more than ordinary The loss of 2 (4.2%) patients were recorded as. HT (p = 0.155) and positive family history (p = 0.077) increase in patients was lower than ETDRS. Ranibizumab injection study in patients with postoperative visual acuity increased NEI-VFQ 25 Quality of Life values were increased, and this was statistically significant. Conclusion: Intravitreal injection of Ranibizumab-treated patients with exudative type of age-related macular degeneration an increase in visual acuity was. NEI-VFQ in patients with age-related macular degeneration: quality of life questionnaire 25 has given reliable results and survey points were increased after the procedureKey words: Ranibizumab, Age-related macular degeneration, quality of life questionnaire
