Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to examine the relationship between auditory and visual reaction times and some of the chosen physiological parameters (sex, age, height, the ratio of body fatness, the paw strength, the maximal anaerobic energy and flexibility) of the sportsmen. The research has covered 94 sportsmen, whom 37 of them have been women and 57 of them have been men, and who have been still studying at Gazi University, Department of Physical Education and Sports. The heart beats of the sportsmen are measured with stethoscope, the anxiety states with Spielberger State-Continual Anxiety Inventory, the reaction time with Newtest 1000 Reaction Time Scale, the height and weight with weighing scale, the measurement of underskin fatness with Skinfold Kaliper, the paw strength with Hand Grip Dynamometer, the maximal anaerobic energy with Newtest 1000 Vertical Jumping Equipment and the flexibility with stretching board. The approximate age of sportswomen is 20,6±1,6; the height is 166,2±4,; the ratio of body fatness is %6,9±2,0; the maximal anaerobic energy is 68,4±7,4 kg.m/sn.; the flexibility is 31,1±7,3 cm.; the visual reaction time is 0,224±0,03 sn. and their auditory reaction time is 0,176±0,03. The approximate age of sportsmen is 21,8±2,1; the height is 78,0±6,2 cm.; the ratio of body fatness is %11,0±34,6; the paw strength is 45,6±7,6 kg.; the maximal anaerobic energy is 105,9±14,3-70- kg.m/sn.; the flexibility is 28,3±8,0 cm.; the visual reaction time is 0,222±0,03 sn. and their auditory reaction time is 0,177±0,03 sn. The Student-t Test is used to determine whether there is a difference between the groups, by transferring the received data to SPSS programme for Windows 10.0 and the correlation analysis is used to determine whether there is a relationship between reaction time and physiological parameters. The test results are evaluated in the %95 reliance gap. Although the relationships between the auditory reaction time of the sportswomen and their age, height, the ratio of body fatness, the paw strength and flexibility are statistically meaningless, it has been figured out that there is a relationship, which is negatively (opposite) directed, with the maximal anaerobic energy; the more maximal anaerobic energy increases, the less auditory reaction time would be and so, this relationship is statistically meaningful (p=0,026). Although the relationships between the auditory reaction time of the sportsmen and their age, height, the ratio of body fatness, the maximal anaerobic energy and flexibility are statistically meaningless, it has been figured out there is a relationship, which is negatively (opposite) directed with the paw strength; the more the paw strength increases, the less the auditory reaction time would be and so, this relationship is statistically meaningful (p=0,021).-71- Consequently, a statically and meaningful relationship, which is negatively directed, has been found out between the auditory reaction time and paw strength of the sportsmen; and between the auditory reaction time and maximal anaerobic energy of the sportswomen.
