The reasons and forward-looking expectations of 10- 13-year-oldpentathlon individuals prefering the modern pentathlon sports:Ankara provincial example

The purpose of the study; The aim of this study is to investigate the reasons for choosing modern pentathlon sports and their prospective expectations of individuals aged 10-13 in Ankara who do modern pentathlon sports.The sample of the research consists of 96 athletes between the ages of 10-13 who are engaged in licensed modern pentathlon in Ankara. In the research, a questionnaire consisting of 3 sections and 29 questions was used: 'Reasons for starting the Modern Pentathlon', 'Reasons for professionally dealing with modern pentathlon sport', 'Expectations from modern pentathlon sport'.Complementary statistics were used to determine the averages of the data related to these surveys. There is no reverse question in the measurement tool used and it is graded according to the 5-point Likert type. The expectations and opinions of the athletes were analyzed for gender, age, educational status, sports age, parental education level, variables, Student t test was used for comparison of two groups from parametric tests and ANOVA tests were used for comparison of more than two groups. According to the findings obtained at the end of the research; 'When the reasons for starting sports of the modern pentathlon athletes were examined, it was determined that there was no statistically significant difference according to gender, age, sports age, education level, parental education level'. 'Expectations from the modern pentathlon sport; It was determined that gender was not statistically significant according to parental education level, but there was a statistically significant difference in age, sports age and educational status. Evaluating the reasons and expectations of starting sports based on the opinions of many athletes in varying age groups, supporting the modern pentathlon to take place in different working areas according to demographic results, and increasing these studies will contribute to the development of sports and athletes.
