Abstract (EN)
This is a study aimed at training artistic directors who work in desktop publishing. A survey was administered to 200 advertising agencies in Istanbul which have artistic directors in their organization. Following the administration of the survey, the knowledge, skills and responsibilities of artistic directors were determined. Furthermore, the delegation of responsibilities in the agency and the clearance of the administration of the advertising agency was found out. During the preparation of the curriculum, the programs of the under-graduate and graduate institutions in Turkey that train artistic directors were also analyzed. After all this process a suggested curriculum was finally developed.Being the course phase, the first academic year consists of six selective courses while the second academic year is the dissertation period. Applied training was given extra importance in the content of the suggested curriculum. Moreover, several suggestions were made in this suggested curriculum regarding the prerequisites for opening an education program for artistic directors, the methods and procedures for the selection of students, the techniques for courses and the process of assessment and evalution.
