The ethnobotany of Reşadiye (A6, Tokat, Turkey) and it?s environs

An ethnobotanical investigation was made in order to determine the plants used by the local people in the region of Reşadiye (A6, TOKAT). For this purpose, the center of Reşadiye, 12 towns and 48 villages; totally 61 settlements have been visited with 120 informants between, April 2009 ? July 2009. During the field work 85 plant species belonging to the family of 44 were assembled and all of these plants were determined. The findings of the research are presented in detail in the text. According to the results of this study total 85 taxa which have ethnobotanical usage, were identified. The plants are mostly used as folk medicine (11 taxa), food (39 taxa ), ornament (2 taxa ), both food and medical (17 taxa) and others (16 taxa).
