Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, the developments in the organic product import regimes of the EU countries, which constitute more than 50% of Turkey's export value of organic agricultural products, and the USA which constitutes about 20% are researched in terms of Turkey organic product export quantity, price, quality and market such as accessibility criteria. For this purpose, in the province of İzmir, which is an important share in the production and export of organic products in Turkey, a questionnaire study was conducted with companies which sells organic products (41%) in 2015 and also all 'foreign trade authorized' control and certification bodies. At the end of the work; the new EU Regulation No. 834/2007, abolishing the EU 2092/91 regulation, it has been determined that export of organic agricultural products of Turkey, which is the third country in terms of EU, has rapidly increased. This regulation has resulted in the positive effect of exporting organic agricultural products via the rapid commercialization, wide choice of suppliers and wide clients opportunities. In recent years, some countries such as the EU, USA and Japan have made important strides in the development of world organic commodity trade by making mutual recognition agreements that facilitate the trade of organic products. Mutual agreements made in developed countries facilitated and increased the trade of organic products among these countries. It is necessary for that Turkey's trade relations will increase, that the mutual recognition agreement with the US and EU countries, which are important for the export of organic products, is made or that Turkey has to enter the 'Third Country List'/the country's own standards are accepted as such country.
