Abstract (EN)

A factory should not be considered as a standardized product. For economy and efficiency, it must be built around the process. And since manufacturing processes are subject to such very wide variations, it is necessary that a factory design must be considered as a problem in production. To obtain maximum production at healthy conditions the main design criterions of industrial buildings are; usefulness, flexibility, non interruption of the production scheme, column spacing, suitable floor and ceiling, suitable placement of physical units, suitable materials, suitable structural system, sufficient possibilities for construction, protection from heat effects and condensation, reducing noise, reducing fire risks and protection, providing most useful lighting, sufficient ventilation.
