Abstract (EN)

I have prepared my study with the headline ? Expression of city in art? my search on city images is explained in this study. I have especially dealt with the artists who studied on city images. These artist dealt with Empressionizmin western drawing and they especially chose city images among the other art movements.To start with, the coming out of the cities has been searched. And within time, cities have changed a lot with the Industrial Revolution in terms of techonology, art and idea. This change has been mentoined in my study. Rapidly developing technology and increasing populalation affected the city images. The changes in the architecture of cities have also been examined in my study.With the affect of Industrial Revolution, the changes in the physical environments have been mentioned. The subject of the city has also changed with the Industrial Revolution and these drawings have been searched in my study. I have especially examined the second part of the 19 th century as the Industrial Revolution was realized during that period of time. I have searched the drawings of the artists who were affected by Empressionism, Kübizm, Sürrealism, New Expressionism, Photo Realism, Pop Art movements and I have searched the city images of these artists.And in the last part of my study, the city subject and how it took part in my drawings have been explanied. The affects of city life on me have been searched. While drawing the city images from different point of wievs, it is obvious that photography has also a great role. Depending on time, all these images and their various comments under different types of lights have been explained.
