Abstract (EN)

Purpose of this study is to analyze the general convincing styles in rhetoric. In the study where we analyzed first the concept of rhetoric, we dealt with the history and ethical dimension of first part. However we dealt with Aristo, synthesizing rhetorical information forming the basis of convincing art and three convincing evidences also. Then we talked about other rhetorician and reviewed the historical development of rhetoric. We discussed the purpose, benefit and kinds of rhetoric and completed Chapter I. In Chapter II we dealt with general convincing types in three parts. First we analyzed linguistic aspects in `Messages? part. We handled the characteristics of suggestions, enthymeme, maxims, examples, confutation methods and message language. Then we discussed the speaker factor constituting the second stage of convincing phenomenon. We touched on character, physical and linguistic mind and training techniques in Rhetoric herein. And finally we tried to show that not only word but also speaker and auditor factors are effective. Consequentially message, auditor and speaker factors constitute the entire rhetoric as the inevitable parts of rhetoric?s general convincing styles.Keywords: Convincing, Speaker, Maxim, Enthymeme, Rhetoric.
