Abstract (EN)
In this study the relationships between psychological tendencies about close relationships of university students and five factor personality traits were examined. The main objective of research is to identfy the psychological tendencies about close relationships, determine of personality traits and find the relationships between relevant variables and personality traits.To research participated Gazi University Faculty of Education the various departments continue their romantic relationships who live, 270 girls, 112 boys, total 382 students. As means of data collection Multi-Dimensional Relationship Scala (MDRS), Personality Based on Adjective Test (PBAT) and personal information form were used. At data analysis used SPSS 15.0 program and multiple regression was conducted.Research result show that in romantic relationships individuals who extraversion, openness, conscientiousness, agreeableness are more sociable and successful, in relationship initiation and continuation less anxiety to live, get more satisfaction from relationships and believe that their relationships development of self control. Whereas in romantic relationships neurotic individuals are more anxiety to live, less self confidence and in relationships consider important to opinions of other, in relationships initiation and continuation having problems obtained other results.Obtained in the study findings are discussed in the light of relevant literature.Keywords: Romantic relationship, personality traits, university students
