Abstract (EN)

Social accountability is attached importance after workers being perceivedthe most important resource of organizations. Furthermore, bad workingconditions in non developped counutries are protested, customers changed theirways of consuming by demanding that producers become socially responsibleand stakeholders started to seek social responsible companies to invest in. Dueto this resaon organizations started to take heed of social accountability.Social accountability activities of organizations are differed from eachother because of the cultural and contents differences. This and other resonswhich are explained above effect the formation of standards about socialaccountability. Among these standards, SA 8000, which was designed by takingISO 9000 and ISO 14000 as models, is quite widely spread as the firstinternational measurable benchmarking applying to workplace practices.This study is made to expose the effect of social accountability onorganizational commitment and job satisfaction. In first saction, there isinformation about social accountability?s historical progress and comprehensionabout social accountability in worldwide.Second section of this study is reserved for information of organizationalcommitment and job satisfaction. Datas which are obtained by applicating thequestionnaire, which is relevant to SA 8000, organizational commitment and jobsatisfaction, and their evaluations takes place in third section.Key Words: 1) Social Accountability, 2) Organizational Commitment,3) Job Satisfaction, 4) SA 8000 Social Accountability Standard
