Abstract (EN)

The semiotic method, which has a highly detailed nature among critical theories, is a field of science focused on meaning, offering various analysis methods at the stage of analyzing the text and using a unique terminology to reach us into the metalanguage of a text. In this research, which is a master's thesis, based on semiotics and Greimas' discipline, selected works from each of Sabahattin Ali's three books and formation stories were analyzed according to Greimas' Actors Model. In the introduction of the thesis, which is divided into three parts, semiotics, the historical process of semiotics and the names that contributed to semiotics are generally mentioned, based on the main study. In the first part, Greimas's life and the names that influenced him are explained and how Greimas approached the text within the semiotic method is explained. In the second part, information about Sabahattin Ali's life and literary personality is given. In the third section, which includes text analyses, Sabahattin Ali's stories; It was examined under three headings: discursive level, narrative level and basic structure. During the analysis, the narrative syllabus was determined, a table of the actants model was prepared, the actants were identified, and then their general transformations were shown. Actors of the texts examined; After showing the steps of action, acquisition, performance, recognition and sanction, the basic structure of the text was revealed by establishing a semiotic quadrilateral. As a result of all these studies, Sabahattin Ali's story texts were analyzed semiotically and the author's narratives were analyzed according to the agent model. By examining the deep and surface structures of the narratives, we wanted to try a different analysis method from classical methods in order to contribute to our literature in terms of text analysis.
