Abstract (EN)

In terms of the history of thought, the concept of "morality" is as old as the history of humanity. However, when it comes to moral philosophy, the first examples emerged in Ancient Greece. The root of the word morality means habit and character. From a philosophical perspective, the word Ethics is used instead of morality. As a term, it is possible to define morality as the rules that regulate people's behaviors in society and their relations with each other. Moral rules, even before gaining a philosophical character, make their existence known to societies in an unwritten form. The basis of Şaban Teoman Duralı's conception of morality is the main factor that makes human beings human, namely morality. Duralı considers morality, which is the last step of his three pillars, as the highest stage in determining the quality of human beings. The aim of this study is to discuss the concept of "morality" in Şaban Teoman Duralı's conception, its relationship with other concepts in philosophy and his contributions to philosophy. For this purpose, first of all, Duralı's books, articles, interviews, conferences, seminars and TV programs were primarily used, and the concept of "morality" was tried to be conveyed within the framework of his views by conducting a literature research.
