Abstract (EN)

The Mamluk Sultanate (648-923/1250-1517) is one of the greatest Turkish countries established in Islamic history as well as they are of great importance in the history of Islamic science. Morever it is seen that they are described as the golden age of Islamic history when works and historians of this period are examined. Among these historians, Safedi become prominent with his works. The aim of this study is to reveal Mamluk historiography in general, and Safedi's understanding of history in particular, starting from the holy part of al-Wafi bi'l vefeyât work. In ththis study, Mamluk historiography is explained with its main lines as well as his life, scientific personality, teachers and works are explained. Finally, the author's understanding of history is mentioned, starting from the preliminary part of Safedi's work named al-Vâfî bi'l vefeyât.
