Abstract (EN)

The study area is situated in Safranbolu Basin of around the Karabük city?s Safranbolu. Study area and its surroundings, to elderly, young, Ulus Formation (Üku), Safranbolu Formation (Ts), Karabük Formation (Ta), Çerçen Formation (Tç), Soğanlı Formation (Tso), Akçapınar Formation (Ta), Yörük Formation (Tör ), Slope Debris (Ymo), Alluvium (Qa) are available.In this survey, 4 measured stratigraphic section, the cross-sections taken from samples of the fossiliferous layers and dissociated. These examples made of 250 thin sections, and microscopic examination of thin sections as a result of these 6 genera and 11 species that characterize the Late-Middle Lutetian have been appointed. Defined in this genus and species are as follows: Alveolina gr. elliptica Sowerby, Assilina exponens (Sowerby), Discocylina cf. harrisoni Vaughan, Nummulites aturicus Joly and Leymerie, N. burdigalensis de la Harpe, N. cf. discorbinus Schaub, N. millecaput Boubée, N. praeaturicus Schaub, Rotalia sp. Lamarck, Orbitolites sp. Lamarck. As determined on the basis of this benthic foraminifera SBZ 15 and SBZ 16 biozones been distinguished. Lithological units in the area and deposited in shelf benthic foraminifera have been observed as a result of evaluation of the content.
