Abstract (EN)

Health care providers are in a busy working tempo, as healthcare institutions have a dynamic structure. Continuous variables in the working environment (patients, relatives of patients and changes in their status) are the main causes of this pace. In this pace of work, health workers can show emotional deformation (such as burnout, emotional blindness, weakening of organizational commitment, mood swings that can be based on psychological basis). This study has been prepared by using literature review method in terms of organizational psychology. The study consists of three parts. In the first part, the concepts of emotional blindness which can be considered as the sub-dimension of burnout and burnout are discussed from the point of health workers. In the second part, the concept of empathy was studied and in the third chapter, the effects of empathy and emotional blinding on the health workers were emphasized. According to the results of the study, health workers with empathy skills can communicate with patients, relatives and colleagues in a healthy and effective way. However, it can be seen that the empathy skills of the employees who experience emotional blindness may decrease. Accordingly, it is impossible for employees to communicate effectively and efficiently. The employee's interest in his work decreases and his working performance decreases. It is very important for health professionals to have the ability to establish empathy according to their duties. If they experience emotional blindness, it becomes very difficult for them to empathize and this reduces the quality of their direct health care.
