Abstract (EN)

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the health technology perceptions of healthcare professionals working in a Hospital. Materials and Methods:This study was conducted as a descriptive study to evaluate the health technology perceptions of healthcare workers. The sample of the study consisted of healthcare workers who were on active duty in a state hospital during the research period, who volunteered to participate in the study and who answered the survey questions completely. Permission was obtained from the necessary institutions for the research and a total of 462 healthcare workers were reached. Socio-demographic information form and Health Personnel Health Technologies Evaluation Attitude Scale (SPSTAT) were used as data collection tools. The data obtained were analyzed using SPSS program. Findings: Among the healthcare professionals who participated in the study, 62.46% were female, 65.1% were married, 20.3% were physicians, and 48.9% were nurses. A statistically significant difference was found between the marital status of the healthcare professionals and the Awareness sub-dimension of the Health Personnel Health Technologies Assessment Attitude Scale (SPSTAT), and between their educational status and occupation and the Health Personnel Health Technologies Assessment Attitude Scale (SPSTAT) and its sub-dimensions (p<0.05). A statistically significant difference was found between the working hours of the health professionals participating in the study and the Health Personnel Health Technologies Evaluation Attitude Scale (SPSTAT) and the benefit and awareness sub-dimensions of the scale (p<0.05). In this context, it was determined that single healthcare professionals with postgraduate education level had significantly higher perceptions of physicians' evaluation of health technologies. Conclusion and Recommendations: In line with these results, it is thought that organizing in-house trainings to increase the perceptions of healthcare professionals in health technology assessment will lead to more efficient and effective results of assessment processes.
