Abstract (EN)
Healthy individuals are very important for the well-being of communities. It is not possible to start and maintain life without good health conditions for the provided to individuals. The health services provide services for the protection of people and communities from diseases, treating patients and rehabilitation of not completely healed are individuals. The aims of these services are to prevent the diseases which are negative for all of society, and to achieve a healthier and more productive society. All expenditures made for these purpose are the subject of health expenditure.The purpose of this study is to investigate the health system and health expenditure of Turkey as a European Union candidate country by comparing it with some European Union countries. Discussion of health reforms by examining has been aimed, realized under the Program of Turkey Health Transformation. As a result of the investigation and numerical data, important differences between the health systems of Turkey and some evaluated European Union countries have been identified and the results have indicated deficiencies in terms of Turkey. Elimination of these deficiencies is of great importance in terms of accelerating of the process of accession to the European Union for Turkey and in order to maximize Turkish Health System Standards.
