Abstract (EN)
In terms of social sciences, spiritual care is one of the leading and intriguing issues which has become increasingly important and popular in recent years. In our study the place and importance of spiritual care in the context of health services has been investigated. We have benefited from the means of psychology anh theology sciences in the matter of the basic features of the spiritual care, its study fields and methods. In this study it's emphasized that spiritual care is a profeesional care model which has its own methods. While the study conducted the latest studies of health institutions regarding the topic, updated data about the issue and the studies of the academists in the field have been benefited. A number of examples of spiritual care practices around the world have been given in the study. Then spiritual care practices in Turkey and the Netherlands have been shed light on. By making use of current data, a unique comparision has been made on the structure scope and legal aspects of spiritual care practices of these countries. It has been found out that the Netherlands has a professional and extensive care model while Turkey's endeavours and practices about spiritual care are at the beginner level. Among the reasons; sociological and cultural differences, disruptions in the process of institutionalization and different legal structures are shown.
