The importance of communication in health services: An empirical study

Abstract (EN)

The purpose of health care is of priority to serve the community and patients. It is very important to meet moral and fiscal expectations of health workers and health institutions to forestall financial expectations and to accept that the people they face are only patients. It will provide moral satisfaction to health workers working with interest, resting, perception, care, consent, empathy, reality and respect terms will provide health workers with moral satisfaction. As soon as within the patient regain their health, it will increase the confidence and demands of patients and their relatives by institution. This study is related to the health personnel communication with patients. The study group of the ministry of health on the European side of Istanbul, 408 who served in 10 hospitals health care worker. The scale of communication skills used in this context, it was developed in order to determine on how they evaluate the communication skills of individuals from korkut (1996). According this study, we did communication skill levels are below the expected value of health workers. The main reason for the negative state is, the education of health worker-patient communication is not enough. If health communication lessons are given not only in communication faculty but also in medical ones, it will help development of health communication among people
