Health institutions and regional event performance menagement and data analysis application technique envelopment analysis

Nowadays, comprehensive and multidirectional changes are taking place; as a result, organizations are in a strong competitive environment. Althoungh these changes are mainly in private sector, the state sector is also getting more and more involved in competitiveness. As public administrations are facing with many challenges, they are forced to make several improvements in order togive faster, qualified, efficient and rational services. Among these improvements, ones in the health care institutions are taking the first rank.The health care institutions are forced to catch up with the private sector performances, while doing this the most common challenges are lack of qualified personel, missing specific and clear measurable performance criteria. This study aimed to measure and evaluate the performances of hospital acitivites by way of performance management system and evaluation of these data to take into account in making administrative decisions. To this end, activities of the regions, that is designated by the Ministry of Health?s Statistical Region Units Classifiication (SRUC), is analyzed by the method of Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). In addition to activity analyses, it had been tried to get the prime reasons for inactivity in non-active regions. Furthermore in non-active regions the targeted values for input-output factors were found.
