Abstract (EN)
The concept of leadership has become a concept that manifests itself in all areas of working life. In this context, it has been observed in studies and studies conducted over time that leadership characteristics and behaviors affect employees' commitment to their institutions. In the first part of this thesis, the concept of leadership, in the second part, the relationship between organizational commitment and the effects of leadership types on the commitment of employees to the organization they are in, literature reviews were made. Research findings revealed that there is a significant relationship between perceived organizational commitment and leadership behavior types in this business. In addition, within the scope of the research, a survey was conducted on 100 people working in the public health institution in Mersin. Parametric test techniques were preferred in the study. Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficients were used to measure the reliability of the scales. The reliability coefficient found for the toxic leadership scale is 0.863. The reliability coefficient found for the organizational commitment scale is 0.862. In other words, our scales are at a high level of reliability. T-test for gender and t-test for marital status were analyzed. The results do not differ significantly according to the scores of the toxic leader scale or the scores of the organizational commitment scale. Anova tests were conducted regarding age groups, educational status, and working time in the institution. Only the toxic leadership scores of individuals differ significantly according to the working time in the institution (F=5.061 , p<0.05). Pearson correlation coefficient was used to test the significance of the correlation coefficient. A negative correlation was found between the two variables. The correlation coefficient is -0.115. Regression analysis was performed. The regression model was statistically significant [F = 13.575, p<0.01]. The adjusted R2 value is 0.080. According to the model, toxic leadership has a significant contribution to explain the organizational commitment sub-dimensions (ß=-,031, p < 0.01), while other independent variables have no significant contribution to the model.
