Abstract (EN)

This study is based on determining the beliefs of Sakha (Yakut) Turks through oral cultural products. The designs that constitute the subject of the study are mental forms woven with codes related to cultural memory. These forms, which are products of human consciousness and shaped by perceptions of the external world through the senses, reflect all the characteristic features of societies: their views on situations and events, and their cognitive, emotional, and behavioral tendencies. Throughout history, they are reorganized repeatedly and expressed in new ways through various cultural productions. In this respect, cultural products are a data field that provides information about the common meaning structure of societies through the codes and designs they contain. The Sakha Turks transitioned from oral culture to written culture quite late, in the 19th century, as a result of the Russian Tsarist policy of Russification and Christianization. Until this time, the cultural heritage of the Sakha Turks has been preserved only in memory and passed down from generation to generation through word and ritual. Considering that the Sakha Turks are an ancient Turkic tribe separated from the main Turkic mass at a very early period, it is clear that the Sakha cultural heritage will provide comprehensive information about Turkish cultural history. In this framework, the data containing information about the designs of the Sakha Turks on beliefs obtained through literature review and field research methods were subjected to three-dimensional analysis as text, texture, and context. The identified designs were discussed under the main headings of 'Place Design Related to Belief', 'Time Design Related to Belief', 'Being Design Related to Belief', and 'Event Design Related to Belief'."
