An analysis of the chapter on etiquette in Sahih Muslim from the perspective of rhetoric

This study aims to explore the guidance provided by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) on social norms and individual behavior through an in-depth analysis of 24 hadiths found in the "Sahih Muslim" under the chapter of manners. The analysis seeks to understand how the linguistic and rhetorical structures of these teachings shape their psychological and sociological impacts. The study incorporates the interpretations of classical Islamic scholars, drawing from works such as Abd al-Qahir al-Jurjani's "Delail al-i'jaz" and al-Zamakhshari's "Mafatih al-Ghayb" to highlight the linguistic excellence of the Prophet (PBUH) and its profound effects in moral and social contexts. The specific terminology and rhetorical elements within the hadiths are examined in relation to their influence on individual psychological states and societal relationships. Another significant aspect of this study is the examination of how these hadiths are applied and reflected in modern society. The guidance offered by the hadiths is evaluated in the context of contemporary work environments, family relationships, and social dynamics. The study addresses how the teachings of the Prophet (PBUH) provide strategic approaches to address social deficiencies and improve interpersonal relations. In conclusion, this study successfully elucidates not only the religious significance of the Prophet's (PBUH) hadiths but also their impact on both social and individual levels. It underscores the guiding role of the linguistic subtleties and rhetorical structures of the hadiths in historical and contemporary contexts, thereby contributing to a comprehensive understanding of Islamic moral and social guidance.
