Abstract (EN)

Along with the Industrial Revolution, some changes in people's manufacturing, consumption habits have influenced their place of life and their choice in the matter. More than half of the world's population now lives in cities, as a result of people's migration from rural to urban areas all over the world. Urbanization so fast and dense has brought a variety of problems. The pace of daily life has increased for people living in these settlements, where construction and crowds are very dense. People also need to assess their remaining leisure time in this dense urban environment, physical activities, socializing and psychologically relaxing. It is known today that green fields have many important functions, both psychological and physical, especially social functions. In this context, the existence and many features of urban green fields have been discussed and investigated by different disciplines. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the existing green areas of 95 neighborhoods in the province of Gaziantep, Şahinbey, for quantitative and accessibility. In this context, we find that all the neighborhoods that were explored were: their populations, their current amounts of green space, their neighborhood areas have been studied. The status of the current green areas was detected using the ArcGIS 10.8.1 software, and hexagonal maps were created. Based on population and field quantities, spatial analysis methods and concentrations of existing green areas have also been analyzed and mapped to availability. Analyzes have concluded that the amount of green space per capita is 3.35 m². The amount of green space per person defined by the Zoning Law is 10 m². By that standard, we can say that the amount of green space per capita in the city of Sahinbey is low. The availability of green fields was assessed in the range of 0-500 m, and was usually found to be within a distance of 0-200 m. All the findings led to an assessment of the competences of existing green spaces, their distribution within the city and their availability, and a variety of recommendations.
