Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study was to determine the extent of heavy metal pollution in soils and vineyard leaves on the Salihli-Alaşehir highway route. For this purpose, 6 soil surface samples (0-30 cm) were taken from the vineyards (one sample per 3 km) on the side of this highway (Kabazlı, Yeşilova, Göbekli, Kavaklıdere, Gürsu, Piyadeler) where Sultani Çekirdeksiz grape variety (Vitis vinifera L.) is intensively grown, and 6 leaf samples were taken from the same vineyards. Based on the negative effects of Cd, Ni and Pb on soil, plants, atmosphere, environment, and indirect effects on the food chain, especially on human health, our study aimed to determine these heavy metal contents in the vineyards (soil, plants) between Salihli and Alaşehir, where motor vehicle traffic is intense. For this reason, heavy metal analyses such as Pb, Cd and Ni were performed in the soils where pollution occurred due to the reasons explained above and compared with the standard limit values previously given by researchers (for soil and plants), then the results were evaluated, and the extent of environmental pollution was determined. In our research, total analyses of Cd, Ni and Pb heavy metals originating from motor vehicle traffic in the vineyards on the side of the highway between Salihli and Alaşehir were performed both in the soil and in the leaves. When the obtained results were evaluated, it was observed that the soils were below the permitted limit values for cadmium (Cd), nickel (Ni), and lead (Pb). This suggests that there is no heavy metal pollution in the soils of the study area. According to the results of our research; among the vineyards where we took soil and vineyard leaf samples, cadmium (Cd) was found in trace amounts in plant samples, while the highest amount of cadmium (Cd) in soil samples was found in vineyard No. 6, and the highest amounts of Ni and Pb were also found in vineyard No. 6 in both soil and leaf samples. In addition, the amount of heavy metals in the samples we took was found to be below the limit values. In this case, it shows that there is no or has not started heavy metal pollution in both soil and leaf samples in the vineyards examined on the side of the Salihli-Alaşehir highway.
