Abstract (EN)
In the context of the position of women in Reform Judaism, the change in the religious and social position of women is aimed. In particular, the change in women's roles in worship, rabbinate and community life is explained. While the historical development of Reform Judaism and the effects of the process on women are discussed in the study, a comparative method is used with traditional Judaism and within women leaders. The study includes the analysis of historical documents and the rituals of the Reformist community. The appointment of women as rabbis, their active role in the synagogue, and their equal and free rights with men are concrete examples of what the Reformist movement offered to women. In the research, a descriptive method was used in the processing of the data obtained through document analysis on Reformist Judaism. The findings of the study show that Reform Judaism advocated equality between men and women and developed theologically. As a result of the research, it has been reached that women have come to the forefront in religious leadership and social sphere with Reform Judaism, beyond traditional Judaism. In addition, it is aimed to show the change and development in the Jewish society. This research on the position of women in Reform Judaism also shows the social impact of modernization processes. Women's leadership in society is not only a religious change, but also a reshaping of the norms of this society. In this process, which started in the context of the principle of women's equality and freedom, it can be said that today we see a Judaism that is on the verge of assimilation. The onset of theological and social change has affected all the balances in society. In this context, it is possible to say that Reform Judaism today also supports de-sexualization. With this study, it is thought that the emergence of a new ideology in Judaism by replacing Traditional Judaism with Reform Judaism will contribute to the field of History of Religions.
