The antioxidant activity-controlled isolation of secondary metabolite of salvia cerino-pruinosa elazigensis

Abstract (EN)

Aim: Salvia genus which in Labiatae family is represented by which 50% of the 89 endemic species in Turkey. Salvia genus has been used for many years as a treatment for the public. In this perspective it will be mentioned the value of Salvia cerino-pruinosa var. elazigensis the genus is intented to be studied in detail from the chemical and biological aspects. Material and Method: In this study S. cerino-pruinosa var elazigensis, antioxidant, anticholinesterase, tyrosinase and urease enzyme activities of elazigensis were investigated by preparing chloroform and ethanol extracts and also using preparative HPLC and othet classical chromatographic methods in the chemical profile in the light of the extracts, purifying the structure of secondary metabolites are elucidated by spectroscopic methods after determining the antioxidant activity of isolated compounds which is urease, anticholinesterase and tyrosinase enzyme activities were also determined. In addition, this genus prepared ethonal extracts from leaves, branches, flowers, roots and mixtures of them. Making quantitative analysis of some compounds by LC-MS/MS of these extracts the fatty acid profile was determined by GC-MS/MS preparing petroleum ether extracts of all the sections. Results: As a result of S. cerino-pruinosa var elazigensis, 30 different substances were obtained which were different from the active ethanol extracts prepared from the underground and overground parts of the genus. Of these compounds, those in the triterpen structure were identified as ursolic, oleanolik acids and beta-amyrin. It was determined that those in steroids were β-sitosterol, stigmasterol, 7-alfa-hydroxy-beta sitosterol and g-sitostenone. It was determined dehydrorhenone and ferruginol also that thos include flavonoids were salvigenin, apigenin, luteolin 7-glycoside, rosmarinic acid, fumaric acid, caffeic acid, salvianolic acid A and B, Benoic acid, protocatechuic acid 4-hydroxybenzoic acid 4-hydroxybenzaldehyde, scopolar and bis- hexyl benzene 1,2 dicarboxylate), bis (2-ethylhexyl) terephthalate. Conclusion: Thus, the results obtained from the S. cerino-pruinosa var. elazigensis which studied for the first time the chemical contents and the above-mentioned activities are brought to the scientific world.
