Abstract (EN)

Accompanying the technological developments, internet use has been on a rapid increase in today's society. The use of internet in organizations for personal purposes other than those of business brings out the cyberloafing behavior. In this context, the aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between cyberloafing and employee performance. In the study, 385 public employees working in Kastamonu Province were surveyed using the convenience sampling method. The correlation analysis was performed to examine the relationship between the sub-dimensions of cyberloafing behavior and employee performance. The results suggest that there was no significant relationship between the workplace internet leisure- one of the sub-dimens of cyberloafing- and employee performance. A significant relationship was found between cyberloafing for personal needs, one of the sub-dimensions of cyberloafing behavior, and the employee performance, whereas,there was no significant relationship between cyberloafing for personal learning and the employee performance.
