Electronic commerce strategies in virtual organizations

Abstract (EN)

In the last quarter of the 20th century, the widespread use of the internet and other technology tools has led to significant changes in the structures of organizations and business. Enterprises and other companies have preferred to develop by taking the advantage of technology. Some companies have decided to virtualize some parts of organization and continue their operations, while others have made thestructure of the business entirely virtual. Virtual organizations can be defined as the evolution of computer technology and the widespread use of the internet since 1980s as an organizational structure. In the early 1990's, with the widespread use of internet, enterprises use the internet in their trading activities. Today, there are many companies that are growing and developing in the field of electronic commerce both atabroad and in Turkey. In recent years, enterprises have started to use actively electronic commerce and electronic commerce tools in their trading activities. In this study, it is aimed to reveal the operation of the virtual organization on electronic commerce companies which produce or sell organic products. Makarna Lütfen, Bioorganic and Marul.com firms present in Turkey were, included in the study. The research was conducted by using the qualitative research method, and findings were obtained from discussions with top managers of these three firms. In this study, data were analyzed by using qualitative research method. At the end of the study, virtual organization models of Makarna Lütfen, Bioorganik and Marul.com were determined and it was understoodthat they use the electronic commerce function effectively. Since the number of people working in these three firms included in the study is between 1 and 10, it has been found out that human resources departments were not established in these firms.
